FantasyLabs.com, a site providing data analysis tools for daily fantasy sports players, has secured an investment from Mark Cuban, the company announced Thursday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, is a vocal supporter of the daily fantasy industry; he’s scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the Fantasy Sports Trade Association Conference later this month and an investor in Unikrn, an eSports wagering service startup. The Mavericks also have a multi-year sponsorship deal with FanDuel.
Fantasy Labs Inc. is a platform offering proprietary data, tools and analytics for fantasy sports players, founded by well-known DFS personalities Peter Jennings and Jonathan Bales.
“We are pleased to have the support of a visionary investor like Mr. Cuban, and are grateful for his support in our goal of creating an environment where fans can easily access and leverage sports analytics for actionable purposes,” said Jennings, who serves as a daily fantasy analyst on ESPN and is known by his handle CSURam88 on DFS sites. “We’re especially excited for how Mr. Cuban’s influence on our organizational development will enable us to expand our analytics offerings into new areas like eSports games, as well as continuing to optimize our core competencies.”
The site has offered services for NFL, MLB and NBA contests since its launch in 2015 and plans to expand into eSports soon.
“The explosive growth of fantasy sports, and its involvement with new categories of competition like eSports, increase the need for high-end resources like the platform offered by Fantasy Labs,” Cuban said in a press release. “I’m excited to be involved with a company that is working to advance an industry that is poised for huge growth.”
Fantasy Labs recently launched a mobile app which is available on Android and iOS devices.
